We continue our journey in the north of Europe. The next destinations are Austrian Alps and Germany’s Black Forrest.
Grossglockner, Austria
Today’s highlight, without a doubt, is the Grossglockner Pass … We are in Austria, winding roads in the snowy Alps… So, this time no one jumped into the water, but despite the snow around and thanks to the sun it was a very pleasant day.
Hallstatt, Austria
We’ve been in Austria for a few days now, and at first we had expectations for a country with Swiss accuracy and German punctuality … 😊 but pretty soon we found out that it is usually impossible to pay by credit card, the internet is weak and English is not really spoken here … However, it should be noted that most of the time we are in the rural area and actually this very fact changed the initial impression – we were two days in a lovely B&B with a wonderful hostess who, despite the difficulty in English, went out of her way to give us tips for trips around and made us feel at home. Today we were at the local restaurant (we lowered the average age of guests by at least a decade 😊) where we were warmly welcomed and well served even without one word in English and with a lot of goodwill and a smile.
Salzburg, Austria
Salzburg … I have never been there before … and although it is a very touristic city and no fashionable brand is absent there, it has its charm 😊. Quiet and pleasant atmosphere, churches, and monasteries, a large ancient city with full places to hang out … in short, definitely worth a visit.
Schwarzwald, Germany
After our first day in the Black Forest in Germany we thought that the enthusiasm for the place prevalent among tourists is exaggerated (after all, we have just arrived from the Slovenian and Austrian Alps 😊), but two days later we had to agree with the crowd … indeed a beautiful place! And the real magic is in the period of autumn, sometimes it is hard to believe that such colors simply exist in nature.
