our passion beyond work
Who we are – Ira and Yoav, we have retired from work at the age of 58 (7 years apart) and nowadays spend our time wandering the world and implementing projects that we enjoy. We have 6 children (3 each) and 5 grandchildren, and we live in Tel Aviv.
We have joined a team of enthusiasts who are ‘crazy’ about cars and specifically classis cars (post war) and who are looking for doing something for the soul and for fun. Our plan for this year includes 3 rallies in Europe with an ultimate goal to participate in the “Pekin-to-Paris” one that goes from Beijing to Paris.
Ways of Life
There are many ways to live one’s life… We have all been looking for ours and sometimes just have been following our environment / society / parents’ expectations and accepted lifestyles. At some point however, one might ask himself: ‘what is it that I really want to do?’, ‘what makes ME happy?’. Usually, this happens when we have completed our main duties: raised kids, had a career, made some money, and now feel that this is our turn to enjoy life. We feel still young and capable and now also independent 😊.
Our Way
Internet is full of advice on what to do when you are thinking of easing off your main career – ‘do what makes YOU happy’, ‘travel’, ‘grow a garden’, ‘write a book’, ‘open a new business’, ‘consult’, ‘volunteer’, and dozens more… So we decided to start with one 😊 – travelling and volunteering. But not the standard, normal travel – we call it a roaming, nomadic life style. No plans, no ‘must see’ or ‘must be there’, no time definition – we go where we can (in this pandemic times), where the weather is good. This is how we came across this idea to add the classic cars rallies to our life.
